Architects & Engineers Professional Liability

Overview
As professionals, architects and engineers face potential liabilities that place them at considerable financial risk because of the type and quality of services they deliver to their clients. Frequently, they make consulting decisions outside their realm of expertise, thus increasing their vulnerability to claims and opening the door to expensive lawsuits.

PIA provides innovative insurance solutions to meet the needs of this specialized group and of over 100 classes of other professionals with harder to place risks.

Policy Highlights
Our Miscellaneous Errors & Omissions (E&O) program protects architects and engineers against claims arising in the performance of their professional services. It addresses issues such as personal injury, which may involve mental or emotional anguish or distress, false arrest, invasion of privacy, harassment, libel, slander or defamation of character. Any perception of negligence, error in judgment or failure to meet client expectations could result in costly litigation, personal financial exposure and damage to reputation.

PIA offers quality coverage and exceptional service, backed by years of experience in providing professional liability insurance. Underwriters proactively follow industry trends, review current insurance programs and recommend how policies may be tailored to meet specific needs. While PIA is competitive with the marketplace, it is not a market for design/build and/or contractor's exposures.

Policies are written on Houston Casualty Company paper, which is rated A+ by A. M. Best Company and AA by Standard & Poor's. A maximum $5 million limit of liability applies for any one account.

Underwriters will accept most E&O applications for all new business submissions for architects and engineers. Turnaround time is exceptional, with policies generally issued within a few days of binding.
